Mission
The Boston Chinese Bible Study Group (BCBSG) is called by God as part of the local churches to evangelize and disciple Chinese students and young professionals through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.
History
The Boston Chinese Bible Study Group 波士頓華人查經班 was born in 1959. It is the oldest Chinese Bible study group in Boston, possibly also the oldest in North America. The Group antedates most Chinese churches in the Greater Boston area. Indeed, the well-known Chinese Bible Church of Greater Boston 波士頓郊區華人聖經教會 in Lexington is an outgrowth of the BCBSG since its founders are alumni and alumnae of the Group.
The Group began as two Christians at MIT 麻省理工學院 met regularly for Bible study. It soon attracted many students, both within the MIT community and without. As the Group grew, we could no longer meet at MIT because many members were not affiliated with MIT. Thus we sought another place where we could meet freely. We met at the First Baptist Church in Central Square for a brief period of time. Because that church building is huge, heating was quite a problem for us. Therefore, in the early 1970's we moved to the Cambridge Church of the Nazarene where we have been meeting ever since.
By God's grace, we have been able to continue the commitment to serious Bible study to this day. We emphasize Bible study because we firmly believe that the Bible is the Word of the Living God, in which can be found the way of life. Through Bible study we come to know Jesus Christ our Saviour, and through our fellowship in Christ we encourage, build up, and minister to one another.
At present, the BCBSG is composed of four Mandarin-speaking groups. Although most of us are Christians, we certainly welcome seekers as well. Indeed, at present, two Mandarin-speaking small groups are devoted to seekers who wish to learn about Christianity.
Introduction
We are a group of Christians and seekers who meet every Friday evening to study the Bible and to have fellowship in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our primary activity is bible study as well as praying to God and for each other. We study books from both the Old and the New Testaments. Sometimes we invite guest speakers to give talks on topics relevant to the book we are currently studying. We also support and encourage one another through our fellowship in Jesus Christ.

What do we do during a regular meeting?
From 7:30 PM to 7:50 PM is singspiration, which is followed by announcements. Then at 8:00 PM we split into small groups for bible study. At around 9:40 PM all groups join one another and have refreshments. We usually close up around 10:30 PM.
